The Lake Murray Nature Center at Tucker Tower is a must visit during any trip to Lake Murray.  The Nature Center is located on the south end of Lake Murray on a cliff overlooking the lake.  The Nature Center is connected to Tucker Tower which overlooks the entire lake by a short uphill path. In the Nature Center is a learning center that covers everything about Lake Murray and Lake Murray State Park.

From the lake’s history to local wildlife to the water itself, the Nature Center covers all topics around the lake.  There are many displays and info-graphics to take in that explain the surrounding areas. The Lake Murray Nature Center opened in its current state in 2013.  There is a huge deck at the nature center that overlooks the lake’s blue waters and is great for photographs.  There is also a small dock that extends into a cove just below the Nature Center.

As we mentioned, the nature center is connected to Tucker Tower by a short path.  Tucker Tower serves as one of Oklahoma’s most visible landmarks.  You can climb to the top of Tucker Tower which provides a 360 degree view of the lake and the surrounding areas. We cannot stress enough.  Do not miss the Lake Murray Nature Center.  It is worth the short drive to the south end of the lake to visit. Enjoy!

Please be aware there are daily parking fees now required throughout Lake Murray State Park.  These fees start at $10 per vehicle per day.  You can find more information on the parking fees on the TravelOK.com website.
