Lake Murray Camping

This page details RV and tent camping on the campgrounds around Lake Murray (we have a separate page for the cabins and lodge). All of the campgrounds are within Lake Murray State Park. Costs and Fees All of the tent campsites that we viewed around the lake had a sign that said $14 per tent. RV sites may be more depending on whether they are modern RV sites or semi-modern.

Here is the detail we could find on the TravelOK.com website:

At Oklahoma State Parks the base rate for a primitive tent or RV camp site is $14.00 per night. For a semi-modern site, which includes electric and water, the rate ranges from $22.00-$30.00 per night. If you’d like a modern site, which includes electric, sewer and water, the rate ranges from $22.00-$30.00 per night. Some parks offer premium sites, like those at water’s edge, for an additional $5.00 fee per night.

For campers 62 and over, Oklahoma State Parks offer a $2.00 discount on the base rate per night, with proper identification. Additional rates for electric, sewer or water are not discounted. Totally disabled discounts are 50% off the base rate for camping with proof of disability such as a Medicare card (for those under the age of 65), notice of total disability from the Social Security Administration, Veterans hunting/fishing permit showing 100% disability signed by the Director of ODVA , letter of disability from Workers Comp, insurance or retirement boards or signed letter from personal physician on letterhead. Additional rates for electric, sewer or water are not discounted.

Lake Murray campsites are first come-first serve. There are plenty of campsites located around the lake, but many of the popular campsites fill up early.
